Cold calls work but no one likes to make them \u2013 now\u2019s the time to suck it up and get on the phone, or do some cold canvassing and drop by some prospects in person.<\/p>\n<p><b><strong>Think twice about that yellow page ad.<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0Still using the Yellow Pages? More and more businesses are abandoning traditional advertising in favor of less expensive but effective internet advertising and investing in their websites. This is the time to enhance your website, make sure it is mobile-ready, invest in Search Engine Optimization, and join social networking sites like Facebook and LinkedIn.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><b><strong>Email\u00a0and call your current customers. <\/strong><\/b>Go through your customer list and touch base with them \u2013 it never hurts to reach out to your customer base \u2013 they\u2019ll be happy to hear from you. Ask them if there\u2019s anyone they know who could use your service, and remind them of any other products or services you offer. You might be surprised to see how effective a personal email\u00a0or phone call can be in getting new and repeat business. Your clients are your best source of referrals since they\u2019re already fans of yours.<\/p>\n<p><b><strong>Network.<\/strong><\/b> Join the local chamber and show up to meetings. (If you\u2019re already a member but haven\u2019t attended in a while \u2013 now\u2019s the time!)
